Came across this survey that discusses the primary concerns of IT Security professional in the Enterprise, this was an eye opening statement:
More than half of the survey respondents from mid-sized (identified as 50-2500 employees) and enterprise organizations (identified as 2500 employees) stated that complex policies ultimately led to a security breach, system outage or both.
Interesting counter perspective. We concern ourselves so much about adding more security but there can also be risk if you have too much security.
