In recent news, several US banks have been the target of cyberattacks with JP Morgan Chase being named as one of the banks that were hacked. There are several other banks that have yet to be named but will certainly be revealed in the weeks to come. The scope of the information stolen is yet to be determined as forensic efforts are still in process and an ongoing FBI and Secret Service investigation as well.

We had a great turnout of attendees for our August webinar! Thanks so much to Becky Fredrick from Deluxe Corp. for presenting very valuable information on the current regulatory landscape for examinations and hot topics such as BSA and CFPB.

We try to have some fun at the Garland Group when the guys are around and Friday’s are time for our ongoing MSPT (mandatory spontaneous PIG tournament). We all really suck but it’s fun.

In response to Financial Institutions needing to implement an Identity Theft Prevention Program banks should really offer up some type of program with identity theft protection companies. It makes perfect sense to me. Why not have my fraud and credit monitoring associated with my bank account? My bank could be my one stop shop for all my financial needs, including credit monitoring.
